April 19, purchased a used 2020 RAV4 with 63k miles, paid
April 19, purchased a used 2020 RAV4 with 63k miles, paid with a bank check, got a fair deal. Drove away happy. April 20, doing errands, started car, got reading “Vehicle Maintenance Required, Please visit Dealer”. Drove to Landers McL, was told service forgot to reset computer. Waited less than an hour, got car, drove away happy. Later that day, started car got reading “Vehicle Maintenance Required Please visit Dealer”. Called Landers McL told them I was coming back next day. April 21, Drove to Dealer. Had arranged a 9am appointment. Nobody showed. Finally, Mark (he was not my appt. person) heard my concerns & returned with Shane, Service Manager. Shane took my car. Hour & 1/2 Shane & Mark returned. I was told my two day old purchase needed a Cooling Bypass Valve, not in stock , should be in by Monday. I live in Tn. A 50 mile round trip. I have now put 100 extra miles that did not have to happen,if the car was prepped correctly. BTW a faulty Cooling Bypass Valve can damage the engine & electrical. How much damage am I doing by driving it? I expect Landers McL’s response will be an apology for the inconvenience. If Landers McL has any integrity, they should consider offering me a first free oil change. Being “Sorry” does not absolve Landers McL from responsibility for this situation. It is just “Sorry”. I do like the car & dealership & will wait for a response. William Kelly

The vehicle sold itself, but the dealership sold the deal. They kept us informed about what was going on (both the good and the bad). They managed to find decent terms for financing as well. We did not have to spend all day to get things done (our dogs appreciated that, too). I would recommend the staff and inventory of Landers McLarty to anyone who needs a vehicle.

After a disappointing experience at a local dealership
After a disappointing experience at a local dealership where the advertised Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited models couldn’t be found, we drove to another dealer about 50 miles away. The difference was immediate. Landers McLarty had at least three Grand Cherokee Limited models on the lot that matched exactly what we were looking for. Our salesman Bryan Sheffer grabbed the keys right away, let us look everything over, and gave us the space to decide which one we wanted. When I asked for their best out‑the‑door price including all available rebates the number came back right in the range I expected. I also requested one additional add‑on item and they accommodated it without hesitation. There was absolutely no pressure throughout the process. We were driving off the lot in about two and a half hours. Smooth and straightforward exactly how buying a vehicle should be.

Sold a 2023 jeep gladiator that spent months in the shop
Sold a 2023 jeep gladiator that spent months in the shop in the first year. No loaner vehicle provided. The final straw was being told the last repair would take over two months for parts to arrive and my jeep would be held the entire time. I bought another jeep from them like an idiot. It started having electrical problems. I called to schedule warranty service and before I could even give the details I was read a list of reasons they will not cover any electrical problems on jeeps. My car has less than 36000 miles and apparently neither the base or extended warranty I purchased do anything. Repeated calls and messages to the dealership have elicited no response except “thanks for shopping with us, take care” This dealership is horrible. The sales people are con men. I don’t know how they sleep at night.

Ian Kelley was great to work with and took very good care of me while looking for a great used truck, I spoke with Ian by phone about a used 2019 Ram they had on the lot before driving to the dealership, I asked him to be completely honest about the condition of the truck before I drove to check it out, because I had already been on three wild goose chases to other dealerships out of state just to find out they were not at all honest about their vehicle conditions, Ian was spot on honest with me, he went above and beyond to help me out, absolutely great to work with, give Ian Kelly a call and you will see for yourself why I think he's Great. Oh, moral of the story, don't drive to Tennessee, Georgia or any other state for that part, you just can't beat what we have right here in good old north Alabama. Thanks again Ian. Roger

If you look across social media you will find a troubling trend of poor service, dishonest practices, and terrible service. Avoid this dealership at all costs. They blame everything on COVID, supply chain, and lack of employees. However if you look at the reviews from various sites you will see similar complaints existed prior to COVID.

If you take your vehicle here for any type of mechanical work ,Expect to be LIED to,be charged for warranty work that was never done. Had truck since April 2022 with 15000 miles. Had trouble after the first week. Have been back and forth 7 times still not repaired. Went to dealership on Thursday Sept 22 talked to Shane Anderson ,he showed me the diagnostic sheet that was showing a misfire and that my New u connect was in to replace the one in truck that was completely messed up. Promised he would check out and drive my truck when I bring it in the next day. Took off again got there ,was asked by Stan Borucki if I had someone to pick me up. I told him I did not that I was not leaving my truck to sit in their back lot for up to 7 days to be diagnosed and possibly 30 days before someone would fix the truck. Told him Shaun promised to drive my truck when I got there. He proceeded to tell me that Shaun was not going to look at it until display was replaced. Took 2 hrs to do that Stan said truck is ready ,told him it was not checked for the misfire by Shaun ,told me that wasn't going to happen. Handed me a bill for 301.00 while telling me the display they put in did not work correctly that I would have to reschedule to have another one put in. Told him I would not pay for work that was not done. After raising xxxx with him and the GM I got my keys back and left. Talk to warranty dept. They said they was charged for 7 days car rental, was never given a car charged for a display that was still broke. I never signed any type of paperwork or approved the work that was not done. Expect to be given the run around or lied to. Have never been cheated or lied to like I have been from this dealership.

Bought a 2018 Ram 1500 Limited with 15,000 miles in April
Bought a 2018 Ram 1500 Limited with 15,000 miles in April 2022. This was after my other 2018 was stolen after having less than a month from this dealership. That's why I purchased another vehicle because of the GREAT SERVICE BY TRAVIS CHRISTIAN. Was assured by Latavyn Johnson this vehicle was top of the line had no issues. The following weekend I took the truck back with Misfire issues. But was told it was supposed to run like that because of MDS system. I told them I just had the exact truck 5.7 hemi that was just stolen and it never missed this bad. Acted like I didn't know what I was talking about because no codes were showing on dash . So instead of standing there arguing with them like I normally would , I left thought maybe I was wrong. This went on for another 2 weeks. Knowing truck is not supposed to run this way since this is my 4 Ram 5.7 hemi. Went back they still insisted I was wrong. The next weekend took my girlfriend and her mother to Columbia Tenn about half way the digital display goes crazy. Flashing through channels turning heater on which would not turn off no matter what I did . Had to roll all windows down just to be able to drive in 100 degree weather. When we got to Columbia will they ate I sat in hot xxx truck trying to figure out a way to turn heater off. After about 45 minutes of still not able to turn heat off this man came up and wanted to know if I needed help . He disconnected both battery cables to do a hard reset. Was able to make it back to Athens. Took to service dept was told I would have to make an appointment asked would they see if they could at least stop the display from going haywire said appointment had to be made ,wanted to know if I wanted a service since it was getting close told them your out of your mind. Truck is under warranty . I would let them put water in it. Didn't want to talk to me since its under warranty and that I would pay for something I didn't need. made an appointment then was told I would have to leave on appointment day for 7 days before it would be looked at and more than likely a month before they could get to it. I had already had a diagnostic by a real Mechanic . showed a u code. Ask them why would I leave my truck setting in their back lot for over a month without a vehicle to drive. Was told Warranty work was not a priority because it they could not overcharge me for work I don't need and pay cash. Unless I was looking to buy another vehicle there was no need for them to talk to me. If there was a way they could get this LEMON BACK

Had another positive experience at the Landers McLarty
Had another positive experience at the Landers McLarty DCJR Service Department during and after a scheduled maintenance visit. Following a multi-point inspection and addressing a few concerns with Hannah Mann my service advisor, additional parts were ordered and I received notice from Wrenne Gillespie as soon as the parts arrived to schedule installation.. Mercedes Myers handled the vehicle intake and return and was upbeat and professional when discussing my concerns. Dejuan Lamar met with me when I dropped the vehicle off to give me the details of what the issues were and what they would do to address them. Although I have their top tier extended warranty plan, this visit was done about 70 miles before my 36,000 mile "bumper to bumper" warranty expired. I was extremely impressed that the service team worked so well together to ensure that all of my concerns were addressed and that I had no further questions or concerns. I cannot think of anything any of them could have done any better to assist me or to represent their dealership or the Jeep brand. .

Had my Pacifica Hybrid towed in after it quit in traffic.
Had my Pacifica Hybrid towed in after it quit in traffic. It has been over 4 weeks and as far as I know it is still sitting outside. I was told they couldn't get it in the shop because it wouldn't run. They will not provide a vehicle to use while they appear to be doing nothing to get my vehicle back to me. Will provide a rating each week until I get it back repaired. Updated rating to 4 stars after dealer contacted me and agreed to accept my vehicle for trade-in on ordering a new vehicle. Also, the van is in the shop and being assessed. Hopefully progress is being made. Over 6 weeks now and waiting for guidance from higher up before any repairs can begin. Over 8 weeks and was just notified that higher up decided the transmission needs to be replaced. Dealer has to wait for higher up to order it and have it delivered, no estimate of how long that will be. 2 Sept2022, van in shop since 14 Jun and I was told Wednesday the mechanic that was working on the van left. Have to wait to be assigned to another mechanic but might be ready by next Friday. Lowered the rating to 3 stars, was told the new transmission came in two weeks ago and it seems it should be installed by now. 8 September, was called late yesterday that the van was ready and quality controlled. Went to get it today and noticed the bag with the charge cable laying on the floor inside the back hatch. Went to put it away and the door on storage compartment wouldn't latch. They took it back into the shop and had to reattach a piece that had come off but did get it fixed. The service tech then noticed that the back of the storage compartment had been broken and said he ordered a new part to replace it and would call when it comes in. Will have to go back to get that fixed, but for now we have the van back and hopefully it will be good to go. Unless something bad happens this wll end my post after almost 3 months without our van.

Not being sure what I wanted in a truck, Roger my sales guy, went to work explaining the different features of the different models of trucks on the lot. I ended up custom-ordering a Big Horn quad cab. The order process was nearly effortless and after all of the options had been explained, I knew I had ordered the right truck for me. The negotiations were quick and I got the price I had intended to get for my 2019 Classic tradesman crew cab. There was a bit of wait time for my custom order but that was to be expected considering the circumstances. I was kept up to date on my trucks progress and couldn't have been happier when it arrived. The features of the truck were explained for the most part and rest I discovered on my own. Can't say enough good things about Landers-Mclarty , heads above the rest, for sure.

Bought a New 2024 Pacifica in April, the seat belt clip was broke off when we got home from purchase, Shane Anderson the Service Manager told the part would be in, a week later still not in and he will not answer his text, Great Service Manager. I would go to Decatur or Albertville to buy one now, I should of listened to the Senior Center people in Gunterville, they told us to stay a way from Landers McLarty as they had no good to say about them. Ian has tried to help (our sales person) but he is just a puppet and can not help at all. Its to bad that Landers McLarty does not stand by the warranty. I will have to go to Decatur or Albertville for service. Chrysler should be proud of Landers McLarty the way they treat customers, ats all about there profit only. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE.

If I could give zero stars, I would! Poor excuse of a service department. I purchased a 22 Wagoneer and have mistakenly brought it here 3x for various warranty work-each time promised a loaner vehicle like is part of the Wagoneer promise…EACH TIME after making the appointment and the need for the loaner known, being told THE DAY OF that the loaner wouldn’t be available. The third time they never even contacted me, I had to call THEM to double check everything was good before driving over just to be given the run around….then finally at near closing time being told the loaner wasn’t returned and in the entire city of Huntsville, not a single Enterprise had a comparable size vehicle they could put me in to complete the work I’ve been scheduled and waiting for for two MONTHS!!! Two whole months. To say I am frustrated is the understatement of the century. So now here I sit with warranty parts I am not allowed to take possession of and work that needs completed. Landers has zero nearby competitors for Jeep so perhaps that is the reason for total s*^%t service or maybe it comes from the top and whoever “manages” this excuse of a dealership.

If you take your vehicle here for any type of mechanical work ,Expect to be LIED to,be charged for warranty work that was never done. Had truck since April 2022 with 15000 miles. Had trouble after the first week. Have been back and forth 7 times still not repaired. Went to dealership on Thursday Sept 22 talked to Shane Anderson ,he showed me the diagnostic sheet that was showing a misfire and that my New u connect was in to replace the one in truck that was completely messed up. Promised he would check out and drive my truck when I bring it in the next day. Took off again got there ,was asked by Stan Borucki if I had someone to pick me up. I told him I did not that I was not leaving my truck to sit in their back lot for up to 7 days to be diagnosed and possibly 30 days before someone would fix the truck. Told him Shaun promised to drive my truck when I got there. He proceeded to tell me that Shaun was not going to look at it until display was replaced. Took 2 hrs to do that Stan said truck is ready ,told him it was not checked for the misfire by Shaun ,told me that wasn't going to happen. Handed me a bill for 301.00 while telling me the display they put in did not work correctly that I would have to reschedule to have another one put in. Told him I would not pay for work that was not done. After raising xxxx with him and the GM I got my keys back and left. Talk to warranty dept. They said they was charged for 7 days car rental, was never given a car charged for a display that was still broke. I never signed any type of paperwork or approved the work that was not done. Expect to be given the run around or lied to. Have never been cheated or lied to like I have been from this dealership.

DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE FROM LANDERS MCLARTY CHRYSLER JEEP RAM. If I could give a 0 star I would. I bought a 2021 Ram 2500 and at 29000 miles the transmission goes out. Took to the dealership and was told it would be 7-10 days before they could even look at it but if I make an appointment I would not lose my place in line and they would evaluate it immediately if I made an appointment. Lie number one. I made appointment and still waited another 11 days before they even touched it. No communication, no updates, no calls. Had to fight them to get a rental. Keep in mind, truck is under bumper to bumper warranty. They gave me 3 dates that the transmission was to be delivered. Lie number 2 and 3. After 2 months they finally tell me the truck will be ready today. Lie number 4 the truck was not ready, supposedly they were out driving doing a quality control check/drive. My so called personal person who was handling my truck was off so Shane Anderson, so called service manager(what a joke) came out and said it was not ready and it was going through quality control. (Again why tell me it will be done and I drive 25 miles to pick it up) I said you have had my truck for two months I will _ _ _ _ _ _ g quality control my own truck. This so called service manager, glorified service writer I believe has the xxxxx to tell me, who just paid $70,000 for a truck less then a year ago, to not bring my truck back if its not fixed. Well he knew something, because there is no way that they put a new transmission in. It is louder then when I took it in. Shifts harder then when I took it in. And the transmission temp light came on with in 5 miles. What a joke. This is the type of people that the Chrysler Corp has representing them. Now I'm left with no other recourse but our legal system to attempt to get my new truck on the road, because the folks at Landers McClarty Chrylser Jeep of Huntsville seriously do not understand customer service and certainly do not stand behind the product. I SAY AGAIN! READ THE OTHER REVIEWS AS WELL. DO NOT BUY FROM LANDERS MCLARTY OF HUNTSVILLE, AL.

I had the opportunity to visit this dealership after experiencing some electrical problems with a vehicle purchase from another dealership. However, after having detailed and thorough dialogue with the Service Advisor, I was totally impressed when the Owner, Mr. Frank Williams took the liberty to come and meet me and gave his assurance that my vehicle would be taken care of and offered some extreme welcomed greetings that I appreciated to the utmost. It was absolutely the greatest experience at a dealership that I had ever experienced. As a result, I'm in the process of purchasing my next truck from this location. The Superior leadership that I observed was impeccable and flat out second to none, and the Service Advisor actions were a direct reflection of his Superior leadership.

I don't know where to start to say thank you to this Dealership! I was traveling from Michigan to the Alabama Coast when I had major issues with my Pacifica. A rep communicated with us via chat on Sunday so when I showed up Monday morning they took a look at what was going on and determined it was going to be an extensive repair. Five hours later I was on my way with a new van! Rob, Stan, Tate, and Shaletha could not have been kinder or more accommodating. Tate even called me the next day to make sure the new van was working well and that I had safely arrived at my destination. As a woman traveling alone they took a really bad situation and did all they could to help me out. So grateful and cannot say enough of good things about this dealership! THANK YOU!

I have purchased many vehicles at this dealership over the years. You will not find another dealership like this one anywhere in the country. They treat you like family and they mean it. They are not out to rip you off. They really want to give you a good deal and want you to be happy with your purchase. Frank Williams is the most personable dealership owner you will ever meet. Willie White will go out of his way as a salesman to get you a great deal and make sure you are happy. Derrick Smith in service will get your periodic service done very quickly and keep you in the loop while it is being done. Go here to make a great deal and get a new family watching your back.

Julie was great. The only negatives was once I got up from her desk to do the rest. I had a good experience otherwise. I would just recommend to any buyer to look at the vehicle you are interested in, study the warranty that may be in place, know how much a warranty from your bank might cost and be informed before going in.

The service was wonderful with Clifford. He was polite. Very friendly. I was approached by a gentleman about my service. He stated hew was a manager asking about a survey. I informed him my experience was great This is all for a recall. . He went back to his desk at the rear door. He proceeded to call me from his cell phone asking about rather personal questions. I asked if the owner was available to voice my concern but he was not. The voice mail he left was rather sickening. I would not come here again.

Been a customer since 2005 and have purchased my last 4 new vehicles from them. Sales and service at one time was excellent and I would recommend them to all of my friends. BUT Times have changed and now I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. Why? I just ran into a situation with one of my vehicles, a 2011 Dodge Caliber that I purchased from them brand new. When I bought it, I also purchased a LIFETIME warranty that has paid for itself several times over. I have had the entire AC system rebuilt on it, one motor replacement and 2 transmission replacement to date. Each time, a $100 deductible. Never an issue getting it in to be looked at and fixed until recently. The transmission is overheating and it needs to be replaced again. No big deal, right? WRONG!! I bring it in and had a recording of the car sitting on the highway with the transmission overheat light on and you could hear my revving the engine with NO movement. The service writer asked me if I had made an appointment to bring in the car and I said "NO". I was then told that it would take 2 weeks BEFORE the could run a diagnostic on the problem and if they determined that it would have to be replaced, it could take up to a month to 2 months to complete. So, I left the car and the next day I called the Service Manager and left him a voicemail. I never hear back, so the day after I called the service center again and just happened to be talking to the service writer from the day I had dropped off my car. She ran down the service manager and he called me and said they only have one person doing transmissions and they already have more than 10 vehicles being worked on and that the situation was the same as what the service write had said and it could take up to 2 months to get it back. He said, the only other solution is to take it somewhere else to get it worked on. Now, I say "Is this how you treat a 19 year customer?" To sling a line saying only one person can work on it is insulting considering I know at least 4 mechanics and a few of the dales people at that dealership and they all say that there is lots of mechanics there that can change out a CVT transmission because they cannot be rebuilt. Sorry to say, I am done with Landers McClarty if they are going to treat their customers like this and feed them lines like that. I guess they figured they were just dealing with an idiot and did not realize that I have been working on cars myself for over 40 years..... I will NEVER EVER Recommend them to anyone again. Go to the Arab dealership because they don't treat their customers this way

SHAME ON ME!
SHAME ON ME! Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. See my previous post, dated 13 July 2022. It has happened again. Had this 2022 Pacifica hybrid for 26 months and less than 19000 miles and it broke. Took it back to the same dealer, the one I ordered it from, and have gotten about the same level of customer service. Took it to the dealer over three weeks ago and the only status call has been that they are waiting for the service technician to get to it. They won't provide a loaner vehicle until the diagnostics are completed. It's under 36-month 36000-mile warranty, but I can't get a loaner vehicle because of them not being able to look at it. Don't think there will be a third time. Don't recommend Chrysler vehicles or this dealer. Didn't want to rate them at 1 star, because that would probably add more time before I get it back.

I searched all of Arkansas and the surrounding states in search of a 2020 RAM 1500 Limited with the color and options that met my criteria. I feel fortunate to have found it at Landers McLarty DCJR in Huntsville, AL. I essentially made the deal online by sharing pictures and having great conversations with Certified Sales Consultant Katie Holland. She was very informative and kept me abreast of every detail before the sale. I was referred to Certified Sales Consultant Robert Sawyer, by Ray Horne, General Manager, due to the unavailability of Katie during the production and delivery process. Robert was very communicative and kept me abreast along the way. It was a joy to meet him in person when I arrived to take delivery. Robert was very attentive to my needs and efficient in completing the final paperwork. Travis Christensen, Finance Manager, took care of my financial documentation and satisfactorily explained any necessary details. The Owner, Frank Williams and General Manager, Ray Horne took the time to meet me and make sure I was pleased and satisfied. It is apparent Frank has established excellent customer service and customer satisfaction as a priority for his dealerships. My encounters with every Landers McLarty DCJR team member was top notch. I made a six-hour drive one-way to pick up my truck. The drive was well worth my time. I could not be happier with my overall purchase and purchase experience. I felt comfortable and safe in the dealership. Everyone was practicing social distancing, masking and personal hygiene as a result of the horrible Covid-19 pandemic.
